  1. many amazing and powerful stories in this film! its so good to see the forces for civilization and culture working in such an energetic way to bring the treasures of Afghanistan once again into public view. So much hope in this documentary…

    I was a little bit nervous when they revealed secrets of how the various collections were hidden from the Taliban and numerous times they mentioned the collapse of the Taliban. But there is still an ongoing war and anyone from the opposing side may be inspired to take revenge when this is exposed.

    Some of the gold work reminded me of another central Asian culture that I used to be fascinated by – the Scythians who were a nomadic people centered around modern day Ukraine…
