This two-part observational documentary looks at the incredible organization that is the Bombay Railway, with stories of the people who keep the trains running 24 hours a day, those who survive because of it – and those who die on it.
Follow the dreams of railway employees such as Mumtaz Kaz, India’s first female train driver, who has to find a wife for her brother and get him married in just eight weeks – all while working full-time. Segment 1 (10 min)
I want to be a train driver and take those English oldies around India…LOL! Jokes aside, I really want to go to Mumbai/Bombay again. I was so determined to see the ‘real’ India –– and to a certain extent I did — that in hindsight I realise Bombay is just as real as the poorer side of India. It is modern India; it is the Indian dream. This time around, I want to walk in their big malls, eat the local fast foods, travel by train a lot more and share in the vision of what inspires the new generation. I should stop rambling and start packing now. :D
That’s funny. One might think that at the rate you travel, you would have a bag already packed with another camera bag ready as well!…
Yes, being a train conductor in India would be like living another life(time). You do have to come to grips with running people over as well.
