The Universe: Beyond The Big Bang

Note: Now you can watch the complete uncut 90 minute video in Segment 10.

The universe began with a massive expansion, 13.7 billions of years ago, and it continues to expand with every passing second. The idea that the universe, and man’s very existence, began with a “Big Bang” is no longer a topic of debate among most scientists–it is essentially taken as fact. This is a great overview and history, with all the key players, of how we achieved our understanding of the universe today. Segment 1 (10 min)

  1. I like that this documentary expands my understanding of the The Bang theory…fact rather, and tackles its complexities in a totally fascinating manner. And the last bits — that we all come from the same source — is not entirely new but is made sweeter in the context of astronomy and cosmology.

  2. I think that the graphic animations have gotten so sophisticated that they explain complex ideas more effectively. And yes, the facts have accumulated and are very nicely presented here.

  3. i really enjoyed this one….i tutored astronomy during my undergrad days and this would have been wonderful to share with my students!
