I want to take three months off and see all of Peru! Oh and that train to Machu Picchu looks way too comfy for me. :)
He he… I was hoping that we’d take that fancy train, partly because I have never been on a fancy train and have always had a romance for a “Oriental Express” like experience. However, since there are 3 other different types of trains catering to different kinds of people, we’d probably end up taking the bargain train!… Sorry, no trekking for us.
There’s also that lodge that is the only accommodations at the site itself. It would be nice to wake up on the slopes of Machu Picchu but that is prohibitively expensive as well. OK, I guess I’ll settle for a few nice pictures…:~)
two of my best friends are heading to Peru about the same time I leave for Russia…hehe, i’d be fancy train…(or at least any train) all the way…I want to take some kind of epic train trip….it keeps popping into my head….so it seems it must be done…
When I think of an epic train trip, I think of India… There must be other sumptuous locations…
agree…India is high on the list…trans-siberian, the ghan, the pride of africa….hehe, i may even take a ride on amtrak…while not exactly epic, might be relaxing…
