BBC Time: Earthtime

This is the 2nd episode of this four-part series with string theory pioneer Michio Kaku’s exploration of time. Our awareness that time stretches back long before we were born, and will continue to stretch into the future long after we’re gone, lies at the heart of our humanity. Without this sense we couldn’t learn from the past, and wouldn’t plan for the future. But where did we come from, and where are we going in time? Every culture mythologizes time and attempts to answer the ultimate questions: was there a beginning? And will there be an end? Segment 1 (10:05 min)

  1. Wow. I am still trying to digest the concept of earth time having a lifespan of 10 billion years and we are at this moment about half way there. It’s so incredible…

  2. What’s really crazy is that we humans have appeared as just in blip in the past few thousand years or so. That’s really odd to think about.
