A French documentary (in English) on the tragic history of Tibet. This programs begins in the 1930′s when Hitler’s Germans came to Tibet on an expedition and discovered a happy, innocent, trusting people living under a theocracy with traditions that probably did not change for centuries up to that point. Compare the early images taken by the Germans with the ones towards the end of this documentary during the 1970s with Tibet under Chinese occupation and no words are needed to describe their sad plight. This is an excellent historical document of how Tibet never really had a chance with Mao’s ruthless strategies. (56 min)
