    interesting that you decided to post this… I just caught a similar item on the evening news here. They mentioned that Atlantic Salmon have been absent from several rivers feeding into Lake Ontario for close to 150 years. Over the past several years they have restored the habitats and released 1.6 million hatchlings and 2 year old fish! This looks somewhat hopeful, though of course restoring what was lost takes so much more time and energy and good luck than it took to decimate the population in the first place. Its good to know that people are out there doing this important work!

    Yes, I agree… I much appreciate that there are people way ahead of their time, taking care of a food source, of our environment while most of us continues to consume. One day, it will turn around and most of will work to protect our planet.
