So did you have a chance to try the raw squid? :)

Another wonderful series; the lady’s upbeat personality is so infectious! I think the Korean cuisine is high up there on the chili factor. What may seem so under-stated and sometimes ‘clean’ in palette can in reality so far from the truth…

I am lucky that I do not have a food show so I don’t have to try things like raw squid. That just makes me squirmy…:~). I am, however, in Korea right now… and really enjoying it…

Raw squid are not too tasty. I prefer raw jellyfish with shredded cabbage and lemon juice. It’s somewhat effervesent. However, it took several years and several bowls of dongdongju before I had the courage to try the bundagi. It is boiled silkworm cases / larve. Smells like dirt as you pass the concotion on the street; tastes similar.

Hmmm, the taste of dirt may be a bit too exotic for my taste…:~)
