I really wish that I was able to meet and interact with the locals when travelling the way all these travel show hosts do. I guess the simple way is to hire a guide that has connections and can take you places that might otherwise be off limits. I notice India is often a recurring theme in your posts and I definitely share your enthusiasm for this place…
My cousin Kathy who I traveled with to Mexico is headed to India for 3 weeks just after the new year… I’d really like to see both Delhi and Mumbai….but the more remote areas really appeal as well….
Wow, Ann… how fabulous to hang out in India… 3 weeks sounds like the perfect beginner package…
Yeah, Sean… I think it’s great to hang out with locals when we travel but it is not as easy as with the travel show host. They not only have the advantage of having the locals set up in advanced but they are naturally more outgoing because they have to shoot for the show. And yes, I guess I do have real enthusiasm for India… There’s so much history, colors… It seems the perfect place for photography fiends.
Yes, I’m so jealous of Kathy’s trip! I wish I was going too….but South America is my next stop for biz….after South America, Asia might be next (also for biz)….
The lure of travels! I was getting a bit home sick towards the end of my trip and three days after arriving home, am already dreaming for the next one. And here on your site, the first I watched was a travel program! :)
Looks like you have some wonderful posts here. I can’t wait to watch them once I settle into my routines.
Travel and food – there’s not much else that’s better…
Welcome back, Chaun. Hope you had a great time in SE Asia and you took plenty of pictures…
