Yes we can and yes we did! Obama’s acceptance speech was inspirational. My mailbox was flooded with emails this morning from friends and colleagues around the world…the the sentiment was one of solidarity and hope… it is a very happy day. :-)

Yes, it was very emotional. Even John McCain’s concession speech showed a lot of class and leadership. It’s not what his fans wanted to hear but it was what they should have heard all along. It was a truly great moment in American history. Indeed, anything can happen.

Agree, McCain was very eloquent in his concession, he clearly loves this country and his support will help to unify Americans as we move forward…

This is a historic moment in every count. Obama has such natural leadership; he’s so inspired, and inspirational. And I think his youth and to a certain extent, idealism, have worked to his advantage, too.

So much rebuilding, so much undoing the damage that has been done and yet so much more to look forward to! I have every confidence that Obama will lead the country into a new era of hope.

Oh yes, I think McCain was very graceful in his concession speech. I did accord him my respect for that.

Yes, being able to be inspiring is a rare leadership trait that many people across the world recognize in Obama. Unlike other leaders that talk about changing the world towards peaceful cooperation, Obama really means it. It’s just part of his DNA. Ultimately it is not about him and about others that he can inspire to work towards a collective change. Let’s hope it works at the political level as well as the grassroots level.

“Inspire” = breathes life…recalls Lincoln’s theme “New Birth of Freedom”..is now O’s inaugural theme.

“Freedom” to be cherished and meaningful–by historic definition–requires constant renewal, under threats and challenge, and by the arrival on her welcoming shores of freedom seekers like us. With O leading, we come to realize that America’s greater strength is in that promise which “wins over hearts and minds” (the slogan adopted toward end of U.S.-Viet war). That the greater threat could be from within, including the greed and profiteering under laissez faire governmental oversight.

With reasoned leadership by O in global setting, we should expect centrists in such places as Iran will have greater policy choices. I see brightest foreign policy minds gathering in the new Administration–gone the Rummies and Cheneys and their narrow-sighted world views. We have reason to hope!

Imagine: $10 b in Iraq per month. That’s ten (10) new transit systems per month!

Ha ha, shouldn’t we be looking into solar transit?

alright, we have jumped the first hurdel in this obstacle course of change ! This is a great man to take on this job. Its a pleasure to listen to him speak and indeed very inspiring. I am cautiously optimistic because as I have stated many times in our dicussions there are vast and powerful forces who have vested interests in preventing progress… lets hope for the best and add our voices whenever possible.

Yes, indeed, the most significant change already happened when Obama won the election – it inspires many marginalized people around the world that there is hope to rise above their situation. The other significant change that many people may not get is that it is about all of us, we must become the change. It not about us standing back, folding our arms, and saying OK, let’s see what Obama can do. It’s about us taking positive action towards what we hope is a better future.
