great wisdom and simple logic on display here. A shame though as the interviewer eludes to that such ideas are held up as sacreligious in the US. How many times though will the people have to see that the old conservative ideologies do not serve them before they demand change? Zinn makes a good point about Obama falling in line with the bailout package… I was quite surprised by that move myself.

It’s difficult to know what Obama’s motivations are but I do know that if he were to speak openly about any and every issue, he would be marginalized and sidelined like Kucinich, Ron Paul and even Jimmy Carter. Then he would not even be close to a position to change anything at all.

The Zen Master votes “present”, sees and accepts what is there…but vision means “seeing the larger pic” and knowing when it is timely to react and how.

Anyone in leadership, especially one running for President, can say something that will be misconstrued or cause reaction to economic in momentary free fall.

In my view, O was wise to be restrained…whereas the maverick had to be seen moving.
