Are you in Mexico City yet? Do they have Wi-Fi on planes yet? I feel like I have not flown since the Dark Ages.

what an amazing story of humanity! these people are so generous and caring. I have trouble understanding why there is a problem here from the governments point of view… surely having such willing help with the orphan situation must be viewed as a good thing. I wonder what the impact of this gaining international attention will have.

My suspicion for why the Chinese has a problem is the same reason they have a problem with criticism of Tibet. They feel indignant and shame which seems to make them spiteful of the people involved. Maybe there is some envy involved because these people (and Tibet) have gained international support.

David, what you said is what I had in my mind when i first started typing, but the couldnt find the right words to say it concisely. Yes, so much of the Chinese outlook is about saving face rather than doing the right thing…

Doing the right thing is not easy. There’s a lot of human stuff (psychology) at play that makes it difficult.

Ann, smooching is the best way to Wi-Fi…
