China’s Cheering Volunteers (1:25 min) - The success of the Beijing games will depend in large part on an army of volunteers. yes, we are being inundated with reports about China and the Olympics these days… happily so. CBC has already been broadcasting their evening news from live China and will continue to do so throughoutthe games. Lots of special reports and in depth coverage. One of the most alarming items is the way people are being forced from their homes and businesses so that certain areas can be bulldozed and either developed or “beautified” for the games. I always enjoy watching as much of the Olympics as I have time for… even more so this time because of the host country.

Beijing’s got the hottest tickets in the world… I just met a couple who is flying over there to cheer for their son in fencing representing the US. He is half Chinese and half Caucasian American.
