A 2006 Channel 4 UK documentary about ‘End Timers’ Evangelical Christians who are pushing the believe that we are living in the ‘End Times’ according to the book of Revelation in the Bible. Believe in the prophesy or not, this point of view seems to be currently affecting politics in the Bush administration and influencing daily lives around the world. (101 minutes)

This was the most complete documentary I have seen on this subject. Very well done. Iwas glad to see that it did have a rational editorial point of view. I just jotted down some random comments as I was watching….
The Texas oil rig guy: lets drill for oil based on prophesy and steal it from the Arabs! hilarious and scary as hell!
this video makes clear many of the points I have raised before about the dangerous influence of these (American!) religious whackos. Also re the desire of fundamentalists to rebuild the temple of the site of the Dome of the Rock…
funny - if the land of the temple should be returned to the Jews, then shouldnt us North Americans return everything we stole from the natives. I mean doesnt the logic need to be consistent for all of human history?
the doomsday industry - lol! interesting point how the “enemy” changes to suit current prejudices ! “anti-christ du jour” indeed…
need to start working on my tribulation survival kit! the scene with that guy in the shop while the host is holding the gun - priceless. Amazing that such believers still feel motivated to pursue capitalist enterprises.
The thing about the UN is ridiculous. America is the only entity in a position to wield power over the entire earth with over 700 intenational bases. Another example is America exporting this irrational religious philosophy: “the answer is not politics / economics / education” right!
The way the psychology of religion works is so blatantly obvious throughout this documentary.
The Ugandan newspaper reporter summed up the situation nicely… putting doomsday faith before responsible action. Doomsday faith thrives in situations of hopelessness. Clearly this also says something about American society.
Re St. John, I thought it was a well established fact that it was not he, but another John who wrote “Revelation” ha ha, I loved the magic mushroom connection!!!
Scary that religious extremists are directing the course of human destiny. Kind of makes me hope that the LHC does blow up the whole world!

he he… Your comments are priceless, Sean. This is one of the scariest trends in the last decade.
