Sudan’s President Pledges Darfur Peace (2:49 min) - Omar al-Bashir, Sudan’s president, says he’s a peacemaker, and told Darfuris this during a visit to the region. His promises of roads and schools for the war-torn state, were welcomed with applause by the people of Darfur. Mohammed Adow was with al-Bashir when he arrived in the northern town of El Fasher, and stayed behind to gauge reaction.

thanks for this… hadnt really been tracking this issue lately. I had no idea Chinese troops were part of the UN mission there. Seems ironic, but apparently they are the only ones living up to their commitments.
