China Sends Troops to Darfur as Promised

The UN’s Darfur Troop Shortage (2:26 min) - The United Nations African Mission in Darfur has been touted as the largest peacekeeping operation the UN has ever undertaken. But six months after forming, the joint force is suffering from a shortage of troops and a lack of equipment. Furthermore, authorities are threatening to expel them if the International Criminal Court indicts Omar al-Bashir, the Sudanese president, for alleged crimes committed in Darfur.

    thanks for this… hadnt really been tracking this issue lately. I had no idea Chinese troops were part of the UN mission there. Seems ironic, but apparently they are the only ones living up to their commitments.
