The Beijing National Stadium, also known as the “Bird’s Nest” (鳥巢) for its architectural expression, will host the main track and field competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. fascinating documentary! definitely and engineering and architectural wonder!
I had seen Ai Wei Wei featured in another documentary a few years ago called “China Rises”. He is a very rebellious and avante garde artist… in some ways its ironic that he played such an important role in this type of project.

like half the world, I was watching the the jaw dropping opening ceremony. The stadium and performances look spectacular, integrated with the choreography for which it was built for. It was neat to know the story behind how it was conceived and built.
